HELP TODAY
“If you need help, ask; if you can help, give.”
Support brothers in need
Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity was founded in 1852 by two men who understood The Great Joy of Serving Others in times of hardship. At the time, on Jefferson College’s campus and in the Canonsburg community, it was typhoid fever.
Today, it is COVID-19.
We are calling all Phi Psis to lend a hand during this very challenging time. We have undergraduates in serious need and Chapter House Corporations that house those students that are facing perhaps the most challenging financial times in their existence. We call on Phi Psi alumni to support our Phi Psi undergraduates.
- To the general Phi Psi Friendship Fund in order to aid the most members with their hardship needs. This is not chapter-specific and is the most flexible option.
- Designate your gift to a chapter’s One Fund in order to aid the House Corporation and ensure that the house is properly cleaned, maintained and able to meet all necessary expenses.
- The Phi Psi Friendship Fund will be used primarily to assist individual Phi Psis who are facing an unusual hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic and who do not otherwise have access to the resources to fund solutions. These situations may include, but are not limited to, offsetting the cost of lost income, providing access to learning or educational resources that are necessary to conduct remote learning, and assistance with paying rent or utilities.
- The chapter’s One Fund is an extension of the existing chapter specific Scholarship and Leadership funds. The “One Fund” will enable the maximum amount of flexibility to a chapter’s alumni leaders by allowing them the ability to determine the best way to utilize the resources available to them in order to support the chapter’s members and chapter house. By supporting the One Fund with an additional donation you will help ensure that those chapters with houses are able to meet the necessary expenses that are necessary to keep the house safe, clean and operational in this time of crisis. These funds will help offset income shortfalls due to lost rent or expenses incurred in order to keep the houses clean and sanitized.
Assistance grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 will be available to undergraduates and alumni with proven financial need as the result of COVID-19 related hardships.
Assistance grant applications are due the first of each month (August 1, September 1). and are available via the My Phi Psi Funds portal. If you’ve never been to the portal, you can click “Register” on the login page to create your account. You will see the application in the “Available Applications” section of the page.
