Welcome to Indianapolis, the Crossroads of America! We are very excited you will be joining us for the 74th Grand Arch Council. Beautiful downtown Indianapolis has many great attractions to accommodate the varied tastes of any visitor. Museums, superb shopping, excellent performing arts venues and premiere nightlife attractions are all options to explore within walking distance from the host hotel, Hyatt Regency.

To ensure you catch all there is to see and do in your free time at GAC, consider checking out some of the best that Indianapolis has to offer.

In downtown Indianapolis you can venture to the top of Monument Circle, read a book at the newly renovated Central Public Library and grab a bite to eat on Massachusetts Avenue all in one afternoon. The friendly, clean, walkable downtown allows you to venture on foot to find any attraction that suits your interest. Plan your afternoon adventure here.

If outdoor fun is what you’re looking for, summer is the best time of year in Indianapolis. See a concert at White River State Park or watch a baseball game at Victory Field. Sports fans of all sorts should take the opportunity to tour the Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Museum, home of the Indy 500 (IRL) and Brickyard 400 (NASCAR). There’s something about sharing a good meal with old friends that makes the stories of the gool ol’ days even better. From quirky independents to the tried and true chains, Indianapolis restaurants are sure to fit your taste buds and your wallet. Kick back with a beer and a burger at Bourbon Street Distillery or sample authentic German cuisine at Indianapolis’ very own Bavarian beer hall The Rathskeller. If red meat is more your style, grab a fillet at the iconic St. Elmo Steak House, an Indianapolis landmark since 1902. Whet your appetite here.

Fresh off a $74 million expansion in 2005, the Indianapolis Museum of Art is a must-see during your visit. The museum is free to all visitors and features galleries from European to modern art.
